Take A Summer Trip — To The Dentist!
When was the last time you visited my office for a hygiene examination and routine cleaning? If you are having a difficult time remembering, then you might be due for a visit. I know that life gets busy. It always seems like there is something to do or an event to attend. The slower routine of the summer is a perfect time to schedule an appointment before school begins again and the hustle and bustle of the fall resumes. Delaying routine appointments can lead to complications that can seriously affect the future of your oral health. Continue reading to learn more.
Importance of Routine Oral Hygiene Appointments
I know that my office isn’t everyone’s favorite place to visit during their free time. However, delaying routine oral care can lead to serious complications that can impact your oral and overall health. When you visit the office for a routine appointment, the treatment is split into two parts. First is the examination, where I review any X-rays and complete a visual exam to determine if there is any decay. During this time, I also inspect for signs of other conditions such as gum disease and oral cancer. The second part is where a member of my team will thoroughly clean your teeth and remove any lingering bacteria and plaque.
Avoid an Emergency
Unfortunately, the longer you wait between hygiene examinations, the higher chance you have of experiencing a dental emergency. If you have any decay or any other condition, it will continue to progress until you experience severe symptoms such as extreme pain or discomfort. I would hate for you to experience an issue during the summer and disrupt your plans.
If you or a loved one are due for a hygiene examination and cleaning appointment, be sure to take advantage of the slow summer days before school starts and the hectic schedules begin again. Contact my office located in St. Paul, MN, and we can schedule your appointment or help determine how long it has been since your last visit. We look forward to seeing you soon!
